What a disappointment! I have been involved with 8 other real estate transactions and this is the worst mortgage company experience! My loan contact was Michael. He was nice. I did everything he asked me to do in a timely fashion and he said he understood my frequent calls were to make sure the process ran smoothly. Things moved a little slower than normal mortgages because we went with a VA loan. The loan process was unorganized. One day before we were supposed to close, the company asked me for help with many things including getting someone to respond to them from my husbands' current employer and also a company that he was employed with for 43 1/2 years. He hasn't worked there for 2 years so this could have been done day one of the loan application. It became a fire along with several other things. Lots and lots of frustrating phone calls. I spent most of my day helping them. I flew down to Florida and my son drove for closing on a Monday. We had to sit in the lobby of the title company for a few hours because Oceanside didn't deliver the closing numbers to the title company. We called and emailed and called again and finally the paperwork was sent over after 5:30 that night. Due to the time, the closing funds wire would not be recognized until the next morning leaving us homeless. We had a U-haul truck filled to the brim and had to find a hotel and worry all night about our belongings. Also, the quoted closing numbers were off by over $5000. The title company told us that Oceanside used New Jersey rules instead of Floridas' for escrow, etc. While we didn't lose money, they should have been more accurate. The loan officer told said he would normally review the final numbers with me but we were sitting at the closing table already. We didn't get into the house until Tuesday afternoon. To add insult, after the loan was officially closed and funded, I received a call later that afternoon telling me the underwriting missed something and wanted additional documents. Oceanside Mortgage never offered any concessions for the pain and suffering with this awful experience and accommodation cost. Now, they just want us to help them out so they can sell our loan quickly and make more money off us. Good luck if you choose to use Oceanside Mortgage ~ you will need it.

We started our application process with Joe. He confirmed multiple times that we had all our documents complete. He actually did not have all the documents needed and we had to scramble to get everything in. Oceanside Mortgage also conveniently forgot to roll out insurance premium into our loan so we had to pay out of pocket for it last minute at closing. Due to unreliable employees and terrible communication, and lack of attention to detail we will never use Oceanside Mortgage again. We will also recommend anyone we know in need of a mortgage to stay far away.

Our loan officer was available via text the whole time. This simplified much of the communication and provided much flexibility while I was at work. All documents could be signed with an electronic signature which was very convenient.
